TVMHA participates in the Sharks Junior Varsity High School Hockey program which now boasts nearly 30 teams throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. JV level hockey is appropriate for players of any skill level, with Ages 13-18. Eligibility is based on being a high school student.
There are three levels of play for the JV High School program throughout the Bay Area: A, B, and C. Level A is the highest level of competition in this division, while level C is reserved for non-checking. Typically, TVMHA has been able to produce B and C level teams for competition. Depending on the number of participants each year, TVMHA can field multiple teams at each level. Placement of players based on skill level will be determined at the end of evaluations. Placement in each Division in Sharks ice will be determined after the Pre-Season game Schedule.
The TVMHA JV High School Season consists of:

The primary objective of the Tri-Valley Minor Hockey Association is to
provide a quality hockey experience for our players by encouraging
participation from the families involved in the program. Both on and
off the ice, the clubs success is based on the dedication of our
volunteers serving as club officials, coaches and parent
Tri-Valley Minor Hockey Association has a mandatory volunteer
program for all club members. Each family is expected to
volunteer a MINIMUM of 10 hours over the course of one
season to fulfill their volunteer commitment.
The following guidelines explain the volunteer commitment.
How it works?
At the beginning of the season, each family will contribute $100
(payable upon accepting a spot on a team). Each family will be
able to “earn” their $100 back by fulfilling their full volunteer
commitment by the end of the season.
Each family will have to provide a minimum of 10 hours of volunteer
time by the end of the season. The Volunteer deposit is only collected
once per family. When registering more than one child for a
team, the second player registered will not be charged a volunteer
At the beginning of the season, each team will designate a volunteer
coordinator. This person will keep track and document all volunteer
opportunities and positions for the entire season. Each family has a
volunteer card, after task completion, the volunteer coordinator or
team manger initials and designates time earned
End of season – The volunteer coordinator will tally and turn in at the
end of the season.
If you have fulfilled your minimum required hours, you will be
reimbursed your volunteer deposit in full. Refund checks for the $100
volunteer deposit (one deposit per family) will be mailed directly to
volunteers by April.
Families can fulfill their volunteer requirements in one of the
Volunteer Coordinator/Asst. team manager
Team fundraiser coordinator
CAHA Screened Locker Room Monitor
*As volunteer opportunities come up, coordinator of that activity can determine
how many volunteers needed and volunteer opportunity will be sent out via email
to all teams via team reps. First come, first volunteer basis to be
determined by person coordinating activity (and that person is in charge of
coordinating/communicating with the volunteers)
We hope this helps you find a way to get involved in your child's
TVMHA experience in a fun and positive way.
