Jeremy Goldhawk being awarded the Jordan Kocian Award by NorCal President William Stone

TVMHA's Jeremy Goldhawk Wins NorCal Award

Each year NorCal awards a single Varsity High School player the Jordan Kocian Award. The award winner is a player that exemplifies desire, determination, dedication, leadership and inspiration in their approach to playing hockey and living. The award is for accomplishments outside hockey as well as inside hockey, it is for players who have been role models to their peers and given their time back to the game and exemplified the spirit of Jordan Kocian.

This year, Jeremy Goldhawk of Tri-Valley’s High School Varsity D2 team, was selected as the Jordan Kocian Award winner. Jeremy is the first TVMHA player to receive this award. Jeremy has been a key part of our Tri Valley hockey program since Mite hockey – more than 10 years.  Throughout his career at Tri Valley, Jeremy has been one of the leaders keeping the group together through some successful seasons and just as importantly through some not so successful seasons.

Jeremy is a consistent performer and quiet leader who leads by example when he is on and off the ice.  Whenever the team encounters adversity, teammates can always count on Jeremy to stay even keeled, and help keep the entire group calm and focused.  Jeremy demonstrates the same consistent performance in his scholastic activities where he has undertaken a very heavy class load and will be graduating Amador High School this spring with an exceptional GPA.  He and his friend created the Amador Physics club in which they are co-presidents today. Jeremy plans to continue has academic career as he plans to enter an Engineering program at the University of Michigan.

Jeremy gives back to the community through volunteer work with his church as well as on his own.  Jeremy spent a week staying in San Francisco and working at a soup kitchen last summer with a program called Young Neighbors in Action.  He also works off and on at the Pleasanton Senior Center and has worked on Habitat for Humanity house projects.

Jeremy loves the game of hockey and is on the ice as much as he can be.  In addition to being part of the Tri Valley family, he has been an instrumental part of building the Pure High School program. Jeremy is the VP of the hockey club at Amador Valley high school.

It is our honor to have Jeremy Goldhawk as the 2016-2017 Jordan Kocian Award.

 Tri-Valley takes concussions seriously---

and why you should, too...

In the least, every parent of a hockey player (big or small) should download the CRR free mobile app on their smart phone. This app helps you recognize whether a player is exhibiting and/or reporting the signs and symptoms of a suspected concussion so that you may respond quickly and appropriately.
